Picture
This painting was inspired by a photograph from our New Year's Eve celebration. Apparently, it was too late in the evening to be photographed based on the disgusted look on her face.. The painting is 16x20" with the mat and was done on 140 lb, Fabriano hot pressed watercolor paper.

My brother wanted a painting of the San Jose Sharks. So I painting this image of the team captain slipping the puck past his opponent. The 16x20 painting (including the beige mat) was done on Fabriano Hot Pressed Watercolor paper.

This painting was inspired by my friend's 70th birthday party. I loved how her long-time friend was sitting there with her looking on as she blew out the candles. I felt the power of their friendship that had evolved over many decades.

The painting is 16x20 on hot pressed watercolor paper with a beige mat.

Ahhh, the morton salt girl.  Or that's what we called her when we spied her waiting outside in the rain for us. I always loved the reference photo, so decided to try it as one of my experiments with 140 lb hot pressed watercolor paper. It worked well to the nature of hot pressed paper.

16x20 with white mat.

Inspired by a painting of my brother and his wife at a wine tasting, this one was done to suggest the happy couple in a similar scene.

This painting was inspired by the piano player at a house concert. The music was amazing, but the mood of the scene was inspirational. The 16x20 watercolor was done on 140 lb cold pressed paper and framed in a beige mat.

I sold it in September of 2017 to a neighbor as it reminded her of her daughter.

Antics with college buddies

This painting was inspired by a visit with college friends at our last reunion.  It is important to note, that I did not intend to make this a portrait (it does not look like her), I just wanted to capture the energy of the scene.

The back story is that right before our college reunion, the State of NH had held a contest where you took pictures of you (and friends) with this sign while vacationing in NH and posted it on their website to enter to win a prize.  We of course we loved that idea and took photos of us with the sign all over campus.

This painting is from a photograph of one of my friends by the bear skin rug in the lobby of the bed and breakfast we stayed in.  I have to say that I had allot of fun painting this scene and it still elicits a giggle when I look at it.

Original watercolor 16x20 with mat.

This is a painting of a friend who's always smiling and going a mile a minute.  I bet the Waif's song "Gillian" was written about her:-)   It's great to have wonderful friends (and beautiful) to inspire my paintings.

16x20 watercolor including mat.
