This version of the Centennial Mills building in Portland was again inspired by the teachings of Ron Stocke.....Simplify, Simplify. I did a painting like this in class and this one once again at home. Yeah, less is more.

I love the fun colors of the buildings in Bermuda. They add to the whole relaxing vacation experience . This painting of a café was partly inspired by a recent workshop with Ron Stocke..... and of course my visit to Bermuda. Ron is a great teacher, has a wonderful painting style and does really beautiful work.
Bermuda Café - original 11x14" painting with white colored mat - $40 This is a painting of a beautiful bouquet of flowers that a guest brought to a recent party. Quite lovely, I thought it would offer another chance to celebrate the sunny smiles of sunflowers and a several techniques (and colors) that add fun and excitement to a watercolor painting (note the bits of purple).
More Sunny Smiles - SOLD- This 16x20 original painting come with a white mat. The Pittock Mansion is one of the highest spots in Portland. and has one of the finest views of the city from the lawn out front. Built in 1914, it is one of Portland's architectural gems. Many a painter stands outside capturing it's beauty. But what I was particularly struck by was the beautiful gardens that surround the mansion. This painting features one of the many gardens that can be found throughout the property.
Gardens at the Pittock - $30 - This 11x16" sketch comes with a beige mat ready for framing. This series of paintings are being used on the labels for the Crooked Acres Vineyard 2012 Pinot Noir "Artist Series" release. They range in size from 5x7 to 11x15. They are all available for sale.....make an offer.
The inspiration for this painting came from a view of the water from a quaint little town near Long Beach Washington. Both the flowers and the view through the aging picket fence were interesting.
To the Ocean - $120 - This 11x15 watercolor was done on 140 lb cold pressed watercolor paper and comes with a white 2.5" mat ready for your choice in 16x20" frame. This watercolor painting was inspired by a beautiful bouquet of flowers I received for my birthday from my niece. After many days of enjoyment, these sunflowers were the only flowers that remained from the bunch.....so they begged to be painted. This quick 11x14 sketch got a bit messy at the end, but I thought I'd go ahead and post it just for fun.
Sunflowers - $50 - The 16x20" original painting includes a white mat and is ready for your choice in 16x20" frame. This painting was inspired by the view from Crooked Acres Vineyard in Underwood Washington. I am always awestruck by the sight of Mt. Hood as it towers above the adjacent mountains and valleys. It is so fortunate that this vineyard has such a wonderful view of the mountain. If you look closely, you can see the winemakers and their two dogs strolling through the vineyard. Mt, Hood through the Vineyard - $50 - The 11x16 painting was done on 140 lb cold pressed watercolor paper and comes fitted with a white mat and ready for your choice in 16x20" frame. This painting was just accepted into the Oregon Society of Artist's Member's juried show. It takes it's inspiration from a photo of a young girl sitting in the back seat of an SUV, waiting for her family to finally head home for the evening. Aside from the amazing look on her face, the siding from a nearby house, reflecting on the shiny black vehicle created interesting patterns and inspiration for the painting.
Waiting - $95 - The watercolor painting was done on 300 lb, cold pressed paper and comes with a cream colored mat ready for your choice in 11x16 frame. This painting was selected by the Hood River Art Club as their "Painting of the Month". For this honor, it will grace the walls of the Hood River Frame Shop in September and Twiggs Jewelers (also Hood River) in October.. The painting was inspired from a photo of a man enjoying the Portland Rose Garden while on a family vacation.
Among Thorns - $175 (or if you like my style, I can paint one of your family members) - The 11x15" painting was done on 300 lb cold pressed watercolor paper and comes with a 2.5", beige colored mat. |
